Free, permanently, with no account. The barcode is read on your phone and the picture is never stored — see the privacy page.
Type the number underneath the barcode instead. It gives the identical answer — the camera is a shortcut to those digits, not a different kind of lookup. Crumpled, curved and badly-lit barcodes defeat every scanner on the market, so the box is always there.
No barcode at all, or a product nothing has ever heard of? Photograph the ingredient panel. That reads today's label rather than a database record that may be years old, which makes it the better answer surprisingly often.
CiCi gives four, not two, and the middle pair are the reason she exists. Labelled gluten-free is a legal claim about testing. No gluten ingredients means nothing in the list is a gluten grain, but nobody tested it and nobody claimed it — which is not the same thing. CiCi can't confirm means something on that label can legally conceal gluten, so she will not call it either way. Contains gluten means a gluten grain is named.
CiCi explains what a label says and what the rules mean. She does not tell you whether to eat something — that call is yours, and nothing here is medical advice.
