CiCi never sees your password — it goes straight to the authentication service, which stores it hashed. It is never written to our database, never logged, and never attached to anything you scan.
Signing up asks one optional question: whether you have celiac disease, a sensitivity, an allergy, or you are gluten-free by choice. It matters for one specific reason.
Someone eating gluten free by preference cannot detect cross-contact — there is no symptom to report. So if their experience is averaged in with a celiac diner's, the one signal that matters to the person at risk disappears. Keeping them separate is the entire reason CiCi's ratings are more useful than a star average.
It is nevershown as a badge that ranks people or makes one person's post look more authoritative. It labels data, not people. “Rather not say” is a real option and costs you nothing.
